Project: Pinesong Retirement Village
Date: Nov 2014
Client: Metlifecare
Pinesong was a measure and value project, which was awarded to Earth Stability through competitive tender amongst invited specialist tenderers.
The project required the installation of 340 anchors requiring over 3,900 metres of drilling and the installation of 1,100m2 of rock fall mesh, surface water drainage with rock lined outlets and extensive re-planting of the slope upon completion.
The site had extremely restricted access. It required us to work at a height of 20 metres over a vertical section of cliff which had a 30 metre steep grade to the sea below. The site also sat immediately beneath a 5 storey apartment complex (the retirement village), which was being undermined by the slip.
Earth Stability is a highly experienced specialist provider in rope access work and its employees are experts in their field. Our project methodologies place paramount importance on health and safety, affected stakeholders and environmental factors.
The project's methodology (and the execution thereof), was meticulously planned and the work was expertly managed with utmost respect and consideration for the sensitive coastal landscape and the residents at the site.
Work was completed on time, to budget and exceeded client’s expectations. Damir Soric of Soil and Rock Consultants who were engaged by Metlifecare as designer on the project said:
“ESL’s work at Pinesong Retirement Village was overall exceptional, given the size and complexity of the project. Very good quality of work, effective listening to what we were seeking as designers and exceptional construction management led a difficult project to a successful completion within its deadline”
ESL was awarded the '2015 Hynds Construction Category B Award', for its work on this project.
