Earth Stability

Case Studies

Project:  Stanley Bay Cliff Line Stabilisation

Date: Sep 2012

Client:  New Zealand Defence Force

Following default by the original subcontractor, main contractor (NZHS) asked Earth Stability to come on board as subcontractor.

Within 24 hours, Earth Stability mobilised one of its specialist rope access crews and equipment and then carried out the descaling, drilling, grouting and installation of rock bolts and micropiles for draped mesh rock fall systems over four sites within the Stanley Bay Naval Base.

Due to the highly sensitive fuel and communications services located along the base of the cliff line, this project required meticulous project management and planning.  Despite the short notice of its engagement, Earth Stability was able to rapidly respond; assessing site conditions and formulating the necessary methodology immediately.

Work was completed on time, to budget and exceeded client’s expectations.  In particular, work was completed without any incident, delay or disruption to the operation of the Naval Base.
