The work
Earth Stability was awarded this project through competitive tender by Auckland Council, with WSP Opus appointed as engineer.
The work included four debris catch fences totalling 139 lineal metres, 56 three-metre anchors and eight four-metre strand anchors, followed by reinstatement of the bluestone kerbing and line marking.
The site was on Judges Bay Road within the Parnell Baths public reserve, at the base of a cliff with private residences above.
A tight programme was required so the pools could reopen for summer. Earth Stability developed a site-specific methodology to protect the sensitive environment, members of the public and the homeowners above while minimising disruption to the residences.
The work was completed on time, to specification and on budget.
